Sparks Elementary uses the 4-Way Test as our Character
Education Program. The 4-Way Test is actually the Code of Ethics used by
Rotary Clubs around the world, and began back in 1932. The 4-Way Test
is composed of 4 questions that all students try to Get Caught demonstrating each and every day here at Sparks. The 4 questions are:
1. Is it the Truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Willl it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Monthly winners are chosen from the Get Caught box in each homeroom at the end of every month. Winners receive a 4-Way
Test T-shirt, and their name and good deed is displayed on a bulletin
board in the primary hallway.
For grades 3, 4, and 5, a poster contest for
the 4-Way Test is held each February, where students are asked to create
a poster that addresses all 4 elements of the 4-Way Test. Winners are
chosen by the Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Hunt Valley.
