Mrs. Tarlton was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Her childhood
was happy, and her hobbies as a child were softball, badminton, and basketball.
She was the Baltimore City Badminton champ. In high school she liked to read,
learned how to sew from her mother, and loved crafts. She loved to play school,
and would make her sister be the student. Her hobbies haven’t really changed
since becoming an adult.
She wanted to be a teacher ever since she was 4 or 5 because she likes working
with children, and likes reading and writing, and thinks she is creative. She
got her teaching degree at the Western Maryland college (it has now changed its
name to McDaniel). She worked at Baskin Robbins and was a camp counselor while
in college. Her favorite subject to teach is Math. The most dramatic and
shocking thing that ever happened to her is that she moved to North Carolina
(away from her family) when her husband proposed. She missed her parents very
much. She is most proud of her children and her husband. The far away and
exciting places she has been are Seattle and San Juan Island (the island that
sits between Canada and the USA). She also went to Bryce National Park where
they have rock formations called "hoodoos."
