Sparks Sharks are Always Moving Forward! |
Mrs. Mayo was born in Baltimore, Maryland. As a family of
four with one younger brother and two parents her childhood was fun. Some of
Mrs. Mayo's hobbies as a child have not changed in adulthood. She was part of
the 4H club, she played sports, and the piano, she was involved in a youth
group, loved to read, loved to ride bikes, and loved to swim. As a child Mrs.
Mayo didn't want to be a teacher. She wanted to be a broadcaster. Since her
parents were teachers, when she was in college she decided to be a teacher. She
also wanted to be a teacher because she loves working with children. Mrs. Mayo
went to college at Towson University where she also got her teaching degree.
Since college she has been teaching. Her favorite subject is reading because she
loves to teach children how to read to succeed. The most shocking thing that
ever happened to Mrs. Mayo is when the old Sparks School burned down and she had
to start all over again. She is most proud of her own children and that she has
been part of the Sparks community almost her whole life. One of the most fun
places that Mrs. Mayo has ever been to is Nashville, Tennessee to the Grand Ole
Opry.
