Miss Bowers was born in Towson, Maryland and grew up in
Carney, Maryland. There were no girls in her neighborhood when she was young, so
she was a tomboy and enjoyed playing outside with all the boys.
She
went to Essex Community College for two years, where she played lacrosse. She
graduated from Towson University with a degree in early childhood education.
Miss Bowers always wanted to be a teacher. School was easy for her because she
worked hard at it and enjoyed it. She became a teacher because she loves
children and enjoys working with people. She also likes to learn new things.
Before becoming a teacher, Miss Bowers was a waitress and a babysitter. She also worked for several years at a hair salon. Nothing compares to her current job, she really enjoys learning with her students. She also likes working at our school. She likes the was that everyone works together as a team and shares ideas. She chose to teacher first grade because she wanted to teach kids to read, She has lots of fun teaching math, but her favorite subject to teach is reading because she likes reading stories. She says that her parents are her role models because they always worked hard for what they had and always set a good example. Family and friends are the most important things in her life and when she finds spare time she likes to take longs walks and play with dogs and cats.
